Endpapers

When putting together a hardcover book, the inner pages, known as the book block, must be secured to the cover. For this, we utilise endsheets, also referred to as endpapers.

What are endpapers?

Endpapers are made from uncoated paper that is slightly thicker than the other interior pages and serve to adhere the book block to the covers. Their increased thickness is essential for handling this demanding role.

When you upload files for a case bound or hardcover book to YouLovePrint, we automatically include endpapers, which will appear as the first and last two pages next to either cover.

If you have any questions, or require printed endpapers, please contact our customer service team and they will be happy to advise how these can be added.

Colour endpapers

To enhance the design of your hardcover books, YouLovePrint also provides endpapers in a variety of colours for a small extra charge.

Similar to the standard white endpapers, these are crafted from an uncoated paper stock that's a bit thicker than the other interior pages.

Printed endpapers

YouLovePrint offers the option to include custom printed endpapers showcasing your chosen design.

If you require printed end-papers, please contact our customer services team and they will be happy to advise how these can be added.

Rather than automatically incorporating these endpapers into your order, we'll need an extra print files from you, detailing tthe extra pages to be printed.

Like other endpapers used in case bound books, these are printed on thicker, uncoated stock. It's important to remember this when designing, as colours can look darker and less vibrant on uncoated paper.
