How to Print Your Comic Book
How to upload your files
Upload your comic book files in whatever way is best for you, whether it’s as single pages, spreads, individual files, or a combined file.
When uploading the cover for your comic book, keep in mind that the “cover” actually consists of four pages: the front cover, inside front cover, back cover, and inside back cover.
Please leave a 3mm bleed on all pages of your comic book – don’t include any important content within this area.
Our binding options for comic books include perfect bound and stapled. Please note that the binding type depends on the size of your comic book as well. If you have too many pages, then perfect binding may be the only option. If you have too few pages, then stapled binding may be your only option. When you upload all your pages, our ordering system will automatically recommend the best binding option for you.
Spine for Perfect Bound
If you choose perfect binding for your comic book, you must upload the artwork for the spine as a separate print file. The spine depth is calculated by our ordering system and will display in your shopping cart before checkout. If you do not upload a print file for your comic book spine, we will leave it blank. We also ask for a 3mm bleed at the top and bottom of the spine.
Completing your order
Ensure that you have filled all placeholders for your comic book pages before completing your order. For example, if your comic book is 64 pages, all 64 boxes must have a placeholder. You can only add pages in multiples of 4 and if you don’t have enough content you must add blank pages.
Comic Book Printing FAQ
The majority of comic books tend to be 24 pages long, US Standard (170mm x 260mm) size and staple bound. These days, Marvel and DC have 20 pages of story in a comic. Four of those pages are the front cover, front inside cover, back cover, and back inside cover. They use the same paper stock to keep costs down, then encourage readers to keep their comics in protective sleeves. Although if you are not selling your comics in protective sleeves, you may wish to consider applying a matt or gloss lamination to protect your cover.
We recommend uploading single pages organised within a single PDF file..
