How to Print Your Business Cards

How to upload your print files

We encourage you to upload your files for your business card in whatever way best suits you, whether as individual files or a single, combined file for multiple business card designs. To ensure a sharper image, we also advise uploading print files at 300dpi. Images lower than 100dpi may appear pixelated.

Please leave a 3mm bleed and 5mm quiet area on all business cards.

Spot colour inks

You must supply your business card print file set with spot colour inks. Ensure the file is a PDF with Pantone or HKS colour set to spot colour ink and labelled with the relevant reference number (e.g. Pantone 287C). We cannot print multiple spot colour inks; only a single spot colour ink is available per business card print file. We also recommend setting the spot colour ink to ‘Knockout’ instead of overprinting a background colour.

Completing your order

We require you to fill all placeholders before completing your order. If you do not have enough content to fill them all, you must add blank pages.

Business Card Printing FAQ

Typically, business cards are produced in smaller runs on HP Indigo digital printers for the best colour reproduction. However, for larger print runs (1,000 copies) our system defaults to a Heidelberg Speedmaster offset litho printer, which is far more cost effective. If you are intending to order a longer run of art prints, but would like digital colour reproduction, please contact us.

Our web-to-print system accepts most file types. However, we highly recommend a 300dpi high resolution PDF for the best results. Please check your digital proofs prior to printing

Not yet, but soon. In the meantime, we recommend adding a 3mm bleed area to the outside of your artwork and a 5mm quiet area on the inside of your artwork. For more information, visit our print file setup guide.
